It is a choice to pursue an education or to pursue a family. Jennifer Louise Ford decided to have a family over the process of starting a career. She worked hard to raise her two kids, Marissa, now married and 26 and living in Indiana, and Drew, 23 and living as a student of Florida Atlantic University in South Florida. After her kids had grown, however, she decided to go back to school and start a new career in the field of law.
Becoming an attorney would take a lot of hard work and education, but Jennifer Louise Ford was familiar with hard work after raising her two kids. She began by attending and graduating from the Florida Atlantic University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science. Because she knew that she wanted to pursue a career in law, she picked Political Science knowing that it pairs well with a law degree. Political Science paints a picture of not just the sociology of people but also the way that laws are made. By understanding where the laws originate from, one can also then understand how to best practice them in legal terms.
She ended up graduating Summa Cum Laude and then attended Nova Southeastern University School of Law in order to earn her Juris Doctorate of Law which she finished in 2016. With these studies completed, she is now in a position to prepare to sit for the Florida state bar in February of 2017.
